One Week On...

On Sunday it will have been one week since I opened this blog, and so far, I have absolutely no regrets. I'm honestly surprised that a lot of people have viewed it and have given me compliments on social media (Twitter and Facebook) about it. It's just given me more and more incentive to carry on posting well in to the near future. That's if I can come up with more ideas of course! Most of my inspiration so far has come from reading other music blogs on Tumblr, Wordpress and on here, and seeing how I can adapt it to fit my own needs, such as vinyl/LP hauls, my top 10 albums/songs for a particular group, reviews on albums (coming soon!) and more. A few readers have commented that they like the motivational quote tags on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and the videos for Watch It Wednesday. I'll be carrying it on for sure!

So in retrospect, this week has more or less been a probationary period for me to see if I could contract the blogging bug, and if anybody liked what I wrote. From what I've seen, people do, so I guess that means I'm here to stay! Hopefully like a fine wine, this blog and the content I post on to it will get better with time. There's a lot of other things that I love about the 1980s as well as music, such as old sitcoms, makeup, fashion and the New Romantic Movement so that should give me a bit more incentive and variation to make my posts a lot more different than just music over and over again. I'm still more or less a newbie to this. In the past I've created blogs about a completely different manner of things but I've lost interest and gave up on them all. Hopefully this time things should be better, as I've gained a lot more experience about how these kind of things work.

I want to give my best friend a very special thank you for encouraging me to make this blog, and even helping me to come up with a title! Is anybody getting any hints or clue about what album we decided that I named it after. If you guessed Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret by Soft Cell, you get an A+! I thought it wouldn't be fair to name it after something that already existed, and knowing some teenagers today, they might have taken the title the wrong way with regards to something X rated. But the title does have a meaning, I will always love the 80s, it will never end!

So with all that being said, I hope to see all of you well into the near future. This blog is here to stay, sharing one 21st century young adult's love for a decade that she wished she was born in time to experience.

Hope to see you in the next post,

Sigourney
